LITTLE STAR AND THE ENVIRONMENT PROBLEMS

 RICO CRUZ ERIC

EXPERIENCE ONE

during the program someone call and between screams the man said help help!, the forest near my house is firing and we are trapped ! So first the firefighters went there and the next day it was August 24 2025 and it day was my birthday but I preferred help to the family so I went to the forest to clean and support with food and money.

EXPERIENCE TWO

Another experience was when a man was cutting down a tree, the tree falled over him and his bones were all broke, when we arrived he was screaming and he said that just wanted to cut down the tree because his house was beautiful and the tree wasn't. So... Well.. with a machine we could move the tree and next the man was going to the hospital

EXPERIENCE THREE

One time I was going to eat a good pizza, but a old woman called me, She asked me about how was the environment of the zone, so we talked about all the problems, and she was surprised and next she talked to me about how she won a lottery and that it was a lot of money for she and she wanted to help

She gave me 1 million of pesos for buy trees and plants to plant them in the forest.

I was surprised, it was a lot of money. I could buy 150 trees and 200 plants, and with my team we plan all them, it was amazing

I have in mind, do a lot of publications in social media, about the forest, and how the humans affect it

And I want to teach in schools too, all the problems that just a bottle of water in the ocean can do.

Title: New Experiences in the Zero Waste Program

These past weeks as a volunteer in the Zero Waste Program have been very enriching. Here are three experiences that made a big impact on me:

1. On August 20th, I took part in a beach clean-up in Playa del Carmen. We collected trash along the shore and sorted it for recycling. It was shocking to see how much plastic we found.

2. On September 2nd, I helped with a community workshop in Tulum where we taught families how to make eco-friendly products like toothpaste and natural cleaners. Everyone was very interested and engaged.

3. On September 10th, I participated in a local market event, promoting reusable bags and explaining how to reduce waste while shopping.

I have two plans for the coming days:

Visit a local school to give a talk on recycling and do fun activities with the kids.

Start a composting project with neighbors to make use of organic waste.

Each experience inspires me to keep protecting our planet.

GARCIA CAMARENA WENDY DANIELA

My first activity took place two weeks ago, helping at a beauty pageant about the importance of trees. I collaborated with my colleagues to come up with ideas on how to come up with ideas on how to reduce littering in our community. The event was held in the Santa Beatriz auditorium, starting at 10 am. We worked as a team and transmitted an environmental message by recreating trees.

Another experience that stands out was a community clean-up event I participated in about three weeks ago. In my neighborhood, San José el cuarto, we joined forces to pick up trash, including plastic bottles, paper and cans. I took on the task of sorting the recyclable, and I felt good to contribute to making our street cleaner. The event ran from noon to 3 pm.

The third one was a reforestation campaign in early July, led by the youth presidency. We helped give away plants as part of a tree-planting initiative. It was a very motivating experience for young children, families and all of us who participated together.

For the future, I plan to promote more awareness campaigns about forest protection and to participate in educational workshops to reduce pollution.

JUAREZ CASTRO VALERIA YOSELIN

Being part of Biomar has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. This environmental association works to protect marine life and natural ecosystems, and I feel proud to contribute to their mission.

One of my most memorable experiences was in March 2023, when I joined a group of volunteers for a beach cleaning in Cancún. We collected plastic bottles, bags, and other kinds of waste. At the end of the day, we had filled more than twenty bags of trash, and it was incredible to see how teamwork can make a real difference. Another special moment happened in July 2023, when I participated in the sea turtle protection program in Playa del Carmen. During the nesting season, I helped protect the nests from predators and human disturbance. One night, I had the opportunity to witness baby turtles hatching and making their way to the sea. It was an unforgettable and emotional moment that I will never forget. Later, in October 2023, I joined an environmental education workshop at a community center. I helped teach children about recycling and ocean conservation. We organized games and activities to make the learning process fun, and the kids were very excited and curious. I felt really happy to inspire them to care for nature.

In the future, I am planning to take part in a mangrove reforestation campaign, because planting trees is essential to protect coastal ecosystems. I also want to participate in a fundraising event to support Biomar’s projects. The money collected will help finance more activities to protect marine life.

Being a volunteer in Biomar has taught me responsibility, teamwork, and love for the environment. I look forward to continuing this journey and making a positive impact on nature.
